MapaTiki thrives on community input. Anyone can suggest a new tiki destination, but each submission is reviewed to ensure it’s a meaningful addition, not just a beach-themed bar with a plastic parrot. We’re looking for soul, not surface. Real effort. Real atmosphere. Real escapism. By keeping the bar high, we honor the venues that pour themselves into creating spaces worth stepping into.

Tiki culture is a complicated cocktail. It borrows heavily (sometimes irresponsibly) from Pacific, Polynesian, and Indigenous traditions. We don’t ignore that. We sit with it. MapaTiki aims to appreciate without appropriating. We encourage submissions and conversations that reflect thoughtfulness, inclusiveness, and respect; for the cultures that inspire tiki, and for each other. Tiki is fantasy. But we’re real people, and we build this space together.
